Creating Your First CV
Step 1: Sign Up
Create a NeonCV account with email, Google, or another supported provider (Clerk handles authentication).
Step 2: Create a Persona (Optional but Recommended)
Go to Personas in the sidebar and create a profile describing your skills, experience, and target role. You can also import from an existing CV/PDF via the AI import feature. See Personas.
Step 3: Enter Job Context
On the home page (Generate CV), paste a job description or describe your target role in the text area.
Step 4: Select a Persona
Choose a persona from the dropdown to tailor content to your profile.
Step 5: Configure Advanced Parameters
- Design Style: Minimal, Recommended, Aesthetic, Graphical.
- Length: Single page or two pages.
- Language: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch.
- Paper Size: A4 or Letter.
- Match Mode: Controls tailoring strength.
Step 6: Generate
Click Generate. The AI produces a LaTeX CV and renders it as a PDF preview.
Step 7: Refine
Use the AI Edit prompt to request changes (e.g. "shorten the summary"). Re-generate as needed.
Step 8: Download
Click the download button to save your CV as a PDF.
